CIP RC/PT Girder Help

Analysis Results Screen

The Analysis Results screen automatically displays after performing an analysis and presents you with a default report. This screen allows you to view, print, or save (in text, Microsoft® RichText® or Microsoft® Excel® formats) structure responses to all loadings, such as dead loads, temperature, and post-tensioning. Influence lines, raw truck and lane responses, and live load and combination responses are also available. Structure responses are available in text reports and in XY graphs.

The responses displayed in the Analysis Results screen are applicable to either a full bridge width section analysis Loads/Analysis Tab or an individual girder analysis, depending on the selection made in the Girder drop-down list on the Loads/Analysis tab. You can display the results for any one of the three analysis/design cases: Initial and Final, by Load Type and Name, and for a particular Response Type.

To redisplay the screen after closing, simply click the Run Analysis button again; CIP RC/PT Girder does not perform another analysis unless the structure or loadings have changed. Right-click in the text or graphic view to display a pop-up menu that allows you to print or save the view. You can also copy the contents to the Clipboard. You may double-click the graphic view to expand it into a full screen.

Analysis results are given for Points-Of-Interest, which CIP RC/PT Girder automatically locates and adds to the analysis. POIs are generated for the beginning and end of the bridge, left and right of supports, left and right of span hinges, and at span 10th points. You may also add POIs to the analysis and control the display of program generated POIs in the test reports by using the Model Points-Of-Interest dialog box. CIP RC/PT Girder will add finite element node points at user-defined check points in order to obtain results; interpolation is not used.

Viewing Analysis Results in Text or Graphic Format

CIP RC/PT Girder allows you to display all of the analysis results in either a text or graphic format.

Viewing Results by Analysis Case

To view the results for an analysis case, select one of the following from the Analysis Case drop-down list:
SettingDescription
Initial The analysis/design case before losses.
Final The analysis/design case after losses.

Viewing Results by Load Type

To view the results for a load type, select one of the following from the Load Type drop-down list. (Not all of these options will be present for each analysis/design case.

SettingDescription
Internal View analysis results for PT and shrinkage.
Dead Load View analysis results for all defined dead loads.
Added Dead Load View analysis results for all defined superimposed dead loads.
Temperature (TU/TG) View analysis results for uniform and gradient temperatures.
Influence Lines View analysis results for all available influence lines.
Truck/Lane View analysis results for all applied design trucks and lane loadings.
Live Load View analysis results for all live loads.
Combinations View analysis results for all available combinations.

Viewing Results by Load Name

To view the analysis results based on the load name, select the specific loading for each load type from the Load Name drop-down list.

Viewing Results by Response Type

To view the analysis results for the stress, force, displacement, and reaction of each loading based on the response type, select the specific loading for each response type from the Response Type drop-down list.

Technical Discussion

The Analysis Results screen is used to display structure responses to all defined non-live load and live load loadings. These are sometimes referred to as the demands on the structure. Making any change to the structure or loadings after closing the Analysis Results screen will invalidate the results and result in a new analysis when pressing the Run Analysis button or the Run Analysis option from the View menu. A re-analysis will not occur if the structure and loads have not changed.

Nomenclature

SettingDescription
